Rent property in Thalang, Phuket
Thalang covers the north of Phuket and much of the island's interior. It borders Bang Tao and Layan to the west and the airport to the north, and runs down to Phang Nga Bay on the east. There are no resort hotels or beach clubs here. Instead you'll find gated villa estates and the rainforest of Khao Phra Thaeo, a protected reserve with waterfalls and a centre that returns gibbons to the wild.
Bang Tao beach is 10-15 minutes by car, the airport around 20, and UWC Thailand international school sits at the foot of the reserve. Families who buy a villa in Thalang usually want peace and quiet and a large home within easy reach of the sea. For investors, property in Thalang is a cheaper way into the market than the coast: prices per square metre run about a fifth below neighbouring Bang Tao, and tenants sign 12-month leases.
